AMG工厂的工程师们赋予了更深层次的含义。Blackseries代表着AMG中的最顶级选手。标榜着Designedfortheracetrack（专为赛道设计）与Readyfortheroadway（随时准备公路赛跑）的口号，便可以看出这个版本的侧重点了吧，功率调教的更为凶猛，车身更加轻盈，而且还比AMG车身宽，其大量运动在内饰，车架及外观套件上的轻量化高成本的黑色碳纤维材质便是其原因所在。所以AMG便给这个版本取了个非常形象的名称“黑系列”在民间被简称为“黑版”或者“BS”。其更加夸张的外观也让Blackseries款变得比AMG更加AMG。
Black Series改变不仅仅只是外表
就拿现在最新款的SLSAMGBlackSeries来说，在外人看来BlackSeries版本的车貌似只是在原本的车身外观上加上了一套碳纤维套件而已。但其实不然，它被AMG称为“奔驰有史以来动力最充沛的SLS”，并承诺这些街车技术百分之百从赛车上嫁接而来。它的技术来源于自家的专业赛车SLSAMGGT3之上，并沿用了不少GT3的外观设计元素。
外观上SLSAMGBlackSeries除了自带的碳纤维空气套件，还能在此之上选装一套造型更加激进的前绕流部件和可调节的大尾翼，使用后不仅能使外观更加凶悍，还能够在高速时获得更多的下压力。
