2006年12月20日，麦迪与姚明参加美国ABC脱口秀节目，主持人吉米·金梅尔提到，难以置信的是，在中国，最受球迷欢迎的不是姚明，而是麦迪。现场响起一阵哄笑。主持人立即强调：“It's no kidding,it's no fun（这是真的），Tracy，你能解释一下吗？”

T-mac露出孩子般的腼腆，说：“I don't know。”

2008年，T-mac因膝伤缺席了十几场比赛，这一年，他还没能进入全明星。作为一名19岁便参加全明星新秀赛，且自2001年来从未落选全明星的天才球星来说，这无疑是一个耻辱。

是的，身在休斯敦的他根本无法理解一个遥远的国家所发生的针对自己的不亚于一场政变的舆论斗争，即便是看了八年球的我也很难理解某些国人的心理。不光是那些少不经事的小屁孩，就连央视某些正襟危座的大牌解说员，也在在这场“运动”中煞费苦心的暗示着鼓舞着什么。但T-mac认定，让一个心清如水的八年级女孩如此伤心，那一定是自己的错。
