Candidates focusing on translating typically take the following compulsory modules: translating; specialised translation; consecutive interpreting; translation studies; research methods in translating and interpreting; and professional issues in translating and interpreting.
Candidates focusing on interpreting typically take the following compulsory modules: consecutive interpreting; simultaneous interpreting; bi-lateral interpreting; translating; translation studies; research methods in translating and interpreting; and professional issues in translating and interpreting.
Depending on different focuses, all candidates take further optional modules that cover: a sight translation exercise; bi-lateral interpreting; English-Chinese subtitle translation; and literary translation. Direct entry to this Stage is possible if you meet the Stage 2 entry requirements.
