玩家可将Overlord升级为overseer,后者是空中侦察单位overseer市区了overload的slime和产生creep的能力,但视野范围更大,并且获得能发现那些隐身以及潜伏在地下的敌人的能力

星际争霸中就有称之为Queen的单位但是星际争霸2中的Queen的外形和功能均与之不同,两者并没有任何相似之处唯一相同之处在于两者共用一个名称
星际争霸2中的Queen直接在Hatchery中孵化,而且同时只能存在一个Queen具有强大的战斗能力,但更重要的是,她通过使用自身独特的能力可以有效的保护Zerg的基地Queen可以制造各种特殊的建筑,不断扩大creep区域,或者充当固定防御炮塔
同时,随着Queen的不断进化,她们可以获得全新的能力,例如Deep Tunnel的能力拥有了这种能力,Queen就可以立即移动到地图上任何一处本方建筑物所在位置Toxic Creep能力可以产生一块creep区域,踏上该区域的敌人地面单位都将受到伤害Swarm Infestation能力能使Queen可以暂时将任何一个Zerg的建筑改造成防御型炮塔,Regeneration能力能让Queen快速修复Zerg建筑遭受的破坏
